CLOG: Artificial Intelligence

by CLOG
CLOG · 2018 · Paperback

The sixteenth issue of CLOG, the Brooklyn-based architecture periodical, treats artificial intelligence as a subject for design, labour and ethics rather than for engineering alone.

The issue is a collection of short pieces by more than forty contributors, among them Guy Barash, Ahmed Elgammal, Scott Draves, Neil Harbisson and Frank Lantz. It follows AI from its earliest speculations to its future. Its questions include whether artificial superintelligence is inevitable, whether AI can render human labour obsolete, and whether it leads to prosperity or extinction. The Canadian Centre for Architecture catalogues it as an essay collection with subject headings on the ethical and social aspects of AI and on technology in art.

Kyle May is editor-in-chief. The editorial team for this number included Julia van den Hout, Jacob Reidel, Jeffrey Franklin, Archie Lee Coates IV, Nate Patrick and Luiza Dale. It appears as CLOG no. 16, ISSN 2164-9782.
