Chapters cover wireless economics and industry structure, buying guidance for cellular phones and service plans, and setting up and securing wireless LANs. Others cover mobile commerce and payment systems, the leading handheld operating systems of the day (BlackBerry, Pocket PC, Palm, Tablet PC), and public concern over the health effects of wireless communications. The book arrived as 3G and 3.5G cellular networks, WLANs, and wireless optics were reaching a general business readership, not just engineers.
