IDEA - KUTT Magazine (The Book)
IDEA
· 2003
· Softcover
A facsimile edition collecting all three issues of KUTT, the cult dyke zine published between 2002-2003 in Amsterdam. Originally conceived as the lesbian counterpart to BUTT Magazine, KUTT was founded by Jessica Gysel, Martien Mulder, and Marjolein Rams. The magazine's signature lilac pages featured it-girl actor Chloë Sevigny, acclaimed writer and activist Eileen Myles, experimental filmmaker K8 Hardy, and feminist queer icon Peaches (Merrill Nisker). Photography by Ryan McGinley, Collier Schorr, Viviane Sassen, and Martien Mulder captured the burgeoning lesbian scene with the same bold spirit and tongue-in-cheek attitude as its sister publication. Despite lasting just three issues, KUTT quickly gained cult status among queer creatives, fashion insiders, and indie mag obsessives. Published by IDEA as a complete facsimile in an edition of 1,000 copies, reproducing the original issues page-for-page.
