Hamburger Eyes -The continuing Story of Life on Earth
Hamburger Eyes: The Continuing Story of Life on Earth is a 2016 book from Roma Publications on the photo magazine Hamburger Eyes, made from facsimile spreads of back issues and photographs by contributors.
Roma published it for an exhibition at Kunstverein München, in collaboration with the Kunstverein. The text at the front recounts the prospectus that the publisher Henry Luce wrote for what became Life magazine. Photographers represented include Ricky Adam, Stevie Dacanay, Ryan Florig, Troy Holden, Lele Saveri, Jai Tanju and David Uzzardi. Julie Peeters designed the 114-page paperback, which measures 21 by 29.7 centimetres.
David and Ray Potes founded Hamburger Eyes in 2001. Roma describes it as a magazine, a publisher and a distributor of zines by photographers around the world. The magazine's own site calls it a black-and-white photography magazine based in California and says it has produced more than 200 titles of zines, magazines and books.
