Drawings
Drawings is a 140-page book on the New York artist Jason Fox, published in 2021 with an essay by Dan Nadel.
The book measures about 21 by 27 cm, was designed by Joe Gilmore, and has its text in English and Mandarin. CANADA, the New York gallery that has shown Fox, lists it on its publications page.
Fox was born in Yonkers, New York, in 1964 and lives in Poughkeepsie. He studied at Cooper Union (BFA, 1986) and Columbia University (MFA, 1988). His paintings are satirical, distorted portraits, and he draws on pop culture, art history, cartooning and movies. An earlier book, published for his 2017 exhibition Square Cave at CANADA and edited by Dan Nadel, combined new paintings with sketches, source material and works on paper made between 2006 and 2016.
