And Another Thing by Anthony Gerace

And Another Thing

by Anthony Gerace
Aint-Bad · 2017 · Perfect bound, hardcover

And Another Thing compiles seven years of collage work and studio materials by London-based artist Anthony Gerace, functioning as much as an artwork in itself as a record of one.

Published by Aint-Bad in an edition of 700, printed in the Netherlands, the 128-page hardcover was sequenced by Gerace as both creator and editor, pairing finished collages with the degraded printed matter, tiny repeated squares, and studio ephemera from which they emerge. An essay by Laura May Todd frames the book's recurring concern with the physical life and reinterpretation of printed images, described by the publisher as tracing an image-death subverted through actions repeated incessantly. The book coincided with an exhibition of the same title at Klompching Gallery, New York, in May 2017.

Gerace works primarily in collage, portraiture, and landscape, building compositions from found and altered printed matter that foreground the wear and reprocessing of the source material itself. And Another Thing remains his most extensive monograph, distilling nearly a decade of that practice into a single sequenced object.
