Eat, Child, Eat! is a survey of work by the German artist Katharina Grosse. She has been known since the 1990s for large-scale color applied with an industrial spray gun directly onto walls, floors, furniture, and landscape rather than canvas.
The 111-page volume was edited by the curator Ulrich Wilmes, with bilingual German and English text. It reproduces the immersive color fields at the center of Grosse's practice, extending painting past the stretcher and into architecture.
Grosse has installed her spray-painted works directly onto building facades and interiors as often as she has shown paintings in a gallery. This book gathers a cross-section of that output rather than documenting a single site-specific installation.
