Sunset
Sunset is a 40-page softcover of photographs by Dafy Hagai, shot in and around Israeli beach resort towns and published by Perimeter Editions of Melbourne in 2015.
Perimeter’s page says the pictures set architecture, abstraction and fragmented figures among landscapes and beach scenes, some idyllic and some faux-idyllic, with reality and artifice held in tension. It presents the book as a more experimental turn for the Tel Aviv-based photographer, and lists it as out of print.
Hagai’s website lists an earlier book, Israeli Girls (Art Paper Editions, 2014), and later ones: Golden Showers (2016) and Spring (2018), both from Perimeter, and Monaco (Art Paper Editions, 2022). It says her books are in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and names the Thomas J. Watson Library in New York as the holding collection.
