Two Years of Bluto

In January of 2017, self-taught artist Erik Hanson decided to try something new.

He set aside the conceive/execute way of working and decided to live in the moment with no plans and no internal critique, giving himself the freedom to do whatever he wanted to do in the studio with no road-map. Within the first week a friend had sent him an image of a Bluto toy and as he painted it, Hanson soon found himself immersed in the concepts he had learned as a little kid parked in front of the TV. The floodgates opened and he was on his way to a monumental meditation on “Good Guys and Bad Guys”
