Portrait
Takashi Homma’s Portrait gathers his photographs of the Japanese actress Mikako Ichikawa, selected from the pictures he has taken of her since her debut.
Heibonsha’s page gives the Japanese title as ポートレイト 市川実日子 and numbers the book Tanoshii Shashin 2, the second in Homma’s photography-classroom series. Homma chose from a large body of images and recomposed them into a sequence that portrays twenty years of Ichikawa’s career. The booksellers Hamonika and Placart both list the book as a hardcover of about 21 × 14.8 cm, and Placart notes a dust jacket and obi.
Homma was born in Tokyo in 1962 and worked in London for the youth magazine i-D in 1991 and 1992. In 1999 he received the 24th Kimura Ihei Award for Tokyo Suburbia. Later collections include The Narcissistic City and Trails, both published by MACK.
