Cascades
Cascades is an artist book by Aaron Flint Jamison, who also designed it.
Edition Patrick Frey in Zürich published it in 2015 as a 288-page hardcover, no. 194 in its STUDIOLO series. The publisher calls it a newly commissioned, handmade publication, produced at Jamison’s own printing facilities for an edition with gta exhibitions. It says the project pays particular attention to materiality and to the exchange between author and machine.
Jamison was born in 1979 in Billings, Montana, and lives and works in Portland, Oregon. He edits the serial publication Veneer Magazine and co-founded the art center Yale Union in Portland. Frey describes his work as concerned with the textures of materials, the distribution of information, and the tools of production. He has shown at the Liverpool Biennial (2014), Artists Space in New York (2013), Cubitt in London (2013), Air de Paris (2012), Artspeak in Vancouver (2012) and the Centre d’édition contemporaine in Geneva (2011), and is represented by Air de Paris.
