The Revolution Is My Boyfriend by Bruce LaBruce

The Revolution Is My Boyfriend

by Bruce LaBruce
Baron · 2024 · Hardcover

A visual anthology of film stills, portraits and personal photographs by the Canadian filmmaker and artist Bruce LaBruce.

Baron published the book in 2024 as a 250-page hardcover. It combines stills from LaBruce's films, among them No Skin Off My Ass (1993), Super 8½ (1994) and Gerontophilia (2013), with photographs of porn actors, trans people, punks, skinheads and skaters. LaBruce has said he assembled it from an archive of analog slides and laid it out by visual connection rather than chronology. It includes pictures from around his 1999 film Skin Flick and candid shots from New York in the late 1990s.

LaBruce is based in Toronto and works as a filmmaker, writer and photographer. He is known as a pioneer of the queercore movement.
