[sic]
[sic] is the paperback reproduction of a 1993 work on paper by Sean Landers: 454 handwritten sheets of yellow lined paper, bound as a book.
The original sheets each measure 11 by 8½ inches. A first book edition was issued in New York by Publicsfear Press in 1993, and Riverhead Books published this 1995 edition, which the artist's own site calls a second reprint. It is a pocket-sized volume of 454 pages, 19 by 14 cm. The cover prints the title in yellow brackets over a blue-toned photograph of a partly undressed man.
Landers was born in 1962 in Palmer, Massachusetts, studied at the Philadelphia College of Art and Yale, and lives and works in New York City and Southold. His biography describes work that uses personal experience as public subject matter across painting, sculpture, drawing, video and writing, mixing humor and confession and blurring fact and fiction.
