Paris versus New York: A Tally of Two Cities by Vahram Muratyan

Paris versus New York: A Tally of Two Cities

by Vahram Muratyan
Penguin Books · 2012 · Hardcover

A book of paired graphic illustrations that set Paris against New York, one detail at a time, from a blog the author began while living in New York.

Each spread sets a small image and a short tagline from one city against its counterpart in the other, in graphic form. The book grew out of an online travel journal that Vahram Muratyan started in 2010 during a long stay in New York, written from the point of view of a Parisian wandering the city. The Penguin Books edition appeared in January 2012 and runs to 224 pages. A French edition was published by 10-18, and a later Penguin title, Paris Versus New York: The Complete Series of Two Cities, is listed under another ISBN.

Muratyan is a French visual storyteller and art director. After the blog drew wide attention he showed the series in print at colette in Paris and at The Standard in New York.
