About the Authors: Lola Raban-Oliva and Jean-René Etienne are a Paris-based creative duo who work under the name Partel Oliva. They are a creative partnership whose multidisciplinary work spans film, art, and fashion. Hailing from the south of France and the Caribbean island of Martinique, they are visual storytellers that find inspiration in fact, fiction, and feeling. As creative directors for Kenzo, they turned the enduring brand into an avant-garde landmark. Their work has included a short film for KENZO's SS17 Collection called "Club Ark Eternal," a tribute to club culture with original music by Lafawndah and movement direction by Ryan Heffington. They previously published "Formentera Storyline" in The Paris Review (Issue 220, Spring 2017). About the Publisher: RVB Books is a Paris-based independent publisher (95 rue Julien Lacroix, 75020 Paris, France) specializing in contemporary photography books, known for its innovative approach to design and collaborative projects with artists to create unique, limited-edition publications. Historical Context: The Notre-Dame fire broke out at Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris, on the evening of April 15, 2019, damaging the iconic landmark and garnering attention worldwide. The fire destroyed most of the roof and the 19th-century spire. More than 400 firefighters battled the blaze.
