Terry
Terry, also circulated as The Terry Richardson Purple Book, is Terry Richardson's contribution to the Purple Books series and the first title in that line, issued by Purple Institute, Paris, in 2004 as a special edition tied to Purple Fashion magazine's Nr. 2.
Like the small-format, single-artist releases that followed it in the series, it was produced and distributed alongside the magazine rather than sold as a standalone trade title, gathering Richardson's photography in the stripped-down paperback format Purple Institute used throughout the Purple Books run.
Richardson is an American photographer who shot advertising campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Aldo, Supreme, Sisley, Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent. He also did editorial work for Rolling Stone, GQ, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, i-D and Vice. His unpolished, direct-flash style, developed through the 1990s and 2000s, made him one of the most widely imitated fashion photographers of his generation. Allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple models then led major publications and fashion houses to sever ties with him from 2017 onward.
