The Bob Dylan Scrapbook 1956-1966 is a documentary scrapbook by the music historian Robert Santelli covering Dylan's rise from Hibbing, Minnesota teenager to the electrified rock artist of Highway 61 Revisited, built as a companion volume to Martin Scorsese's documentary No Direction Home.

Published by Simon & Schuster in a slipcased hardcover, the book reproduces facsimiles of handwritten lyric sheets, contracts and other removable documents alongside rare photographs from the decade. It originally included a 45-minute audio CD. Santelli's text moves chronologically through Dylan's Greenwich Village arrival, his embrace by the folk revival, and the controversial turn to electric rock that alienated part of his early audience.

Santelli is an American music historian and curator who has written extensively on American roots music, blues and Bruce Springsteen, and later served as founding executive director of the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles and, subsequently, of Monmouth University's Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music. His other books include American Roots Music and Greetings from E Street.
