Pussy

Pussy: The Aurel Schmidt Purple Book is a 2010 special edition Purple Institute produced for Purple Fashion Magazine issue 13, collecting artist Aurel Schmidt's drawings under the magazine's Purple Books imprint.

Staple-bound in illustrated wrappers, the book presents Schmidt's densely worked graphite and colored-pencil drawings, built up from small repeated marks into figures and still lifes. It appeared as Purple Book #12, part of the Purple Institute's continuing series of small-format artist books produced alongside the magazine.

Aurel Schmidt works primarily in drawing, and Pussy gives her work a dedicated volume within Purple's series, which the magazine has used repeatedly to publish individual artists on their own terms rather than folded into its regular editorial pages.
