No Time for Love by Chloe Sevigny

No Time for Love

by Chloe Sevigny
Innen · 2015 · Zine, side-stapled

A self-published zine in which the actress Chloe Sevigny turns a personal photo archive into a public one, pairing snapshots of past relationships with tabloid gossip clippings about herself.

No Time for Love collects photographs Sevigny took of the men she loved, in her words, "from my father to my first true love to my biggest crush," from photobooth strips to candid snapshots, alongside clippings from the New York Post's Page Six documenting her own public life. The men's faces are obscured with stickers, a gesture that turns romantic memoir into redaction. Published in Geneva by Innen in an edition of 1,000, the zine was released to coincide with the I Never Read art book fair in Basel in June 2015 and sold out shortly after.

Sevigny, an actress and longtime fixture of downtown New York's art and fashion scenes, has moved between film, fashion collaborations and self-published projects across her career. No Time for Love sits alongside that work as a diaristic, confessional object rather than a professional photography book, closer in spirit to a scrapbook than a monograph.
