No Nude - Virgin Lisa

No Nude - Virgin Lisa is the third volume in Kishin Shinoyama's No Nude series, a set of photobooks whose title plays against their content: nude photographs built around a single model, here Lisa Akikawa.

The book is a staple-bound, unpaginated softcover with text in Japanese and English, presenting nude photography built entirely around Akikawa as its subject.

Shinoyama (1940-2024) studied at Nihon University and built a decades-long career spanning fashion, advertising, and celebrity portraiture, photographing the album covers for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey. He won the Mainichi Art Prize in 1980 and the Golden Eye Award in 1998. His best-known photobook, Santa Fe (1991), paired him with the actress Rie Miyazawa, and the No Nude series continued his long-running practice of book-length nude studies built around a single model.
