Kingdome 19 Universal
Universal is a 2004 photobook of male nude photography by Henning von Berg, credited jointly with the artist name Kingdome 19.
The Getty Research Institute catalogues it as a cased volume of about 25 cm, unpaged and mostly illustrated, some plates in colour, under the subjects erotic photography, photography of the nude and the male nude in art. It was issued by Bruno Gmünder in Berlin.
Von Berg was born in Hannover in 1961 and worked for thirteen years as a planning engineer before becoming a freelance photographer in 1997 after moving to Cologne. His early group shoots combined nude models with industrial architecture, and his 1999 project Naked Berlin photographed male nudes at the Reichstag and other Berlin landmarks. Kingdome 19 appears as co-author on two Universal editions, from 2004 and 2008.
