Jenny Jenny
Jenny Jenny is Tobias Zielony's 2013 photobook, built from a chance encounter: a conversation with a young couple on a Berlin subway train led the photographer to portraits of the woman and the fellow sex workers she introduced him to, made without the certainty documentary photography usually claims.
Published by Spector Books in Leipzig in June 2013, the cloth-bound, thread-sewn hardcover runs 128 pages with 50 full-page color photographs, designed by Prill Vieceli Cremers, with English and German text by Ulrich Domröse, Maren Lübbke-Tidow, and Vanessa Joan Müller. It accompanied the exhibition Tobias Zielony: Jenny Jenny at the Berlinische Galerie, Landesmuseum für Moderne Kunst, Fotografie und Architektur, on view June 21 through September 30, 2013.
Spector Books has published Zielony's photography as a numbered monograph series that also includes The Fall, Maskirowka, Ha Neu / Vele / Hansha, The Citizen / Hurd's Bank, and The Street.
