New York
New York gathers four decades of black-and-white and color photographs of the city by Lloyd Ziff, a photographer, art director, and designer who turned to photography as his sole focus in 2000.
KMW Studio published the 104-page hardcover in 2016. The photographs, made between 1967 and 2014, follow the changing architecture, streets, and people of New York as seen by a longtime resident. The book also carries jacket texts from Annie Leibovitz, Diane Keaton, photography curator Marvin Heiferman, and Sir Harold Evans.
Ziff has held one-man exhibitions at Danziger Gallery and Robin Rice Gallery in New York and at Earl McGrath Gallery in Los Angeles, and his photographs are held in the permanent collections of the Palm Springs Art Museum and the International Center of Photography. His earlier book, Near North: Photographs of Alaska and the Yukon, appeared in 2010, and his photographs are reproduced in Patti Smith's memoir Just Kids.
