Collections Schema

Overview

The endpoint lists every collection the art wing's explore page lists. It is generated at build from the same index as the collection pages, so a count here matches the page it points to.

The response has two keys. collections is an array of the entries described below: collections generated from tags and from the catalogue record first, grouped by facet, then the curated collections. categories is the list of category ids with a name and a description for each.

Fields

• id - Same value as slug
• name - Collection name, as printed on its page
• slug - URL-safe collection identifier
• description - Collection description
• path - Site path of the collection page
• image - Site path of a cover image, or null
• bookCount - Number of books the page lists. Optional: the two hand-built pages (Richard Prince, Magazines) have no count
• facet - Which section lists the collection: theme, medium, genre, format, place, period, person, series or published. Null for curated collections
• origin - Where the collection comes from: hand (a tag), derived (the catalogue record: publication decade, author or classification), hand+derived (both), curated (a hand-written rule) or static (a hand-built page)
• category - subject for generated collections, a category id for curated ones, or null
• featured - True for the curated collections listed last
