No Photos

No Photos is Tiane Doan na Champassak's 2015 photobook of images made in the red-light district of Amsterdam, published in a risograph edition of 275 copies.

The 74-page book was printed by Après Midi Lab on black Fedrigoni paper under Siam's Guy Books, the artist's own imprint. Its title refers to the "no photography" signs posted on the district's window-brothels, a rule the photographs themselves quietly defy.

Doan na Champassak works mostly in small, self-published editions, often returning to sites of surveillance, censorship, and the sex trade. Related titles from the same imprint include Kolkata (2014), a portrait of that city's red-light district, and OVR SXE DSIR (2015), a facsimile of a found Thai scrapbook of erotic ephemera.
