FLOWERS

FLOWERS is a collaborative artist book by Kenta Cobayashi and Tyrone Williams, published by Photobook Daydream Editions in a first edition of 100.

The work pairs the two photographers' practices through a shared image-language built at the seam where photographic capture meets generative AI: source photographs of flowers and floral arrangements are fed through the artists' respective digital processes, then iteratively transformed, first by the artists themselves, then extended further into computational realms, until the resulting images sit between document, painting, and rendered object.

The collaboration is in keeping with both photographers' wider concerns: Cobayashi (b. 1992, based in Tokyo) is known for warped, post-photographic image-making that pushes against the boundary between photograph and digital artifact, while Williams (based in New York) develops image work that interrogates surface, code, and abstraction. As a small softcover edition of 100, FLOWERS reads as a discrete proposition rather than a survey. It is a 64-page experiment in what intentional collaboration with AI tools looks like for two artists already working at the edges of computational photography.
