I Love....
I Love... is a 2019 collection of Arthur Elgort's photographs of women, drawn from across his career and published by Damiani.
The 208-page book ranges from student dancers at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St. Petersburg to portraits of some of fashion's most recognized figures. It includes models Gia Carangi, Cindy Crawford, Karen Elson, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington, and editors Franca Sozzani, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, and Polly Allen Mellen, formerly of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Allure. Steve Hiett designed the book; he had earlier worked with Elgort on Arthur Elgort's Models Manual (1993).
Elgort, born in Brooklyn in 1940, built his reputation on a 1971 spread in British Vogue that introduced a loose, on-the-move "snapshot" style shot in natural light, in place of the era's static studio conventions. He went on to shoot regularly for Vogue, Glamour, GQ, Rolling Stone, and Teen Vogue, and to photograph campaigns for Chanel, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent. His other books include Models Manual, Camera Ready: How to Shoot Your Kids (1997), and Camera Crazy (2004).
