Something For Lovers

Something for Lovers is a coloring book of Genieve Figgis's paintings, in a small hardcover wrapped in suede.

Karma published it to coincide with the opening of Figgis's exhibition at Gallery Met, the gallery at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. It collects 34 of her paintings, and leaves the coloring to the reader. Karma's text lists Victorian landscapes, portraits and embracing couples among the subjects. The 80-page hardcover is wrapped in deep violet suede, measures 8½ by 6 inches and was issued in an edition of 1,200. All 34 paintings are reproduced in color at the back, and the D.A.P. listing counts 34 color and 34 black-and-white images.

Figgis is an Irish painter born in 1972. Karma's text describes her paintings as dreamlike, romantic and at times banal in subject.
