Special Guest

Published for a 2015 Gagosian Gallery exhibition, 'Special Guest' brings together two photographers who interrogate the limits of image-making through appropriation and commercial aesthetics. Prince, the pioneer of appropriation art, and Ethridge, known for blending commissioned photography with personal work, create a visual dialogue that reflects on each artist's practice as seen through the other's lens. The publication explores how images circulate, transform, and accumulate meaning in contemporary visual culture.
