Welcome to the Walter Planet and House of Fire 1988-1989
Published by Tyler Graphics in 1989, this book documents two related series of prints James Rosenquist made at the workshop in 1988 and 1989: Welcome to the Water Planet and House of Fire.
The 48-page softcover reproduces the prints from both series, including two gatefold plates, alongside an essay by Judith Goldman, acknowledgements by Tyler Graphics founder Kenneth E. Tyler, and a chronology of the artist's work.
Tyler Graphics, the print workshop Kenneth Tyler founded in Mount Kisco, New York, worked with major American artists on ambitious editioned projects through the 1970s and 1980s, and Rosenquist made numerous series there. Welcome to the Water Planet and House of Fire carry over the large-scale, biomorphic imagery of his paintings from the same period into the print workshop's technical range.
