this bookzine is based on Schorr's seminal book 'Jens F', published by Steidl/MACK.

The work is a study of Andrew Wyeth's series of paitings of a girl named Helga. Schorr began to photograph a young boy in many of the positions that Wyeth painted Helga to give someone another identity and photograph them through the transformation. During the process, Wyeth's book 'The Helga Pictures' became a sketchbook, filled with contact prints, annotations and so where the viewer sees only the finished and perfected photograph. 'Contacts' shows a deeper view into this process
