Slanted Magazine #37—AI: Artificial Intelligence

by Slanted Publishers
Slanted Publishers · 2021 · Magazine (Swiss brochure)

The 37th issue of the design magazine Slanted, devoted to artificial intelligence and what it does to design and everyday life.

The issue covers machine and deep learning, virtual and augmented reality, algorithms and transhumanism, and asks how these technologies may change work and social relationships. Introductory texts are by Tom Barbereau and Jack Dignam. It runs 288 pages in English, 16 × 24 cm, in a Swiss brochure binding, printed digitally and in offset. No two covers match: the artist duo Crosslucid supplied a different motif for each copy of the edition.

Slanted publishes one themed issue at a time, and the library also holds #45 (Sex) and #46 (Cairo). Issue 37 appeared in May 2021 with the ISSN 1867-6510 and received a Tokyo TDC Award. A limited tote bag from LOQI, with a design by the artist Sofia Crespo, was released alongside it.
