Jonas / 12

by Willy Vanderperre
IDEA · 2017 · Unbound, in poly bag

Jonas / 12 gathers intimate portraits and close-up studies of the model Jonas Gloer by fashion photographer Willy Vanderperre, stripping his subject away from the clothes and sets of a fashion shoot to the face alone.

The publication is one of twelve unbound amazines that make up IDEA's 12 series, each devoted to a single model and each issued loose, in a poly bag, rather than bound as a conventional book. Vanderperre drew the imagery from his fashion work with Gloer, whom he has photographed since the model was in his teens.

Vanderperre is a Belgian photographer known for his fashion work with Raf Simons, Prada, and Dior, and for a recurring cast of models he returns to across seasons and campaigns. Jonas / 12 sits alongside his other self-published and small-press projects, which move his fashion photography into a more private, sustained register.
