Airplane Mode 2
The second instalment of John Yuyi's nude airplane-lavatory selfies, published by Dashwood Books in September 2026 as a signed 20-page zine, drawn from the pictures she took between 2021 and 2026.
Yuyi has photographed herself naked in the bathroom of every plane she has boarded since a sixteen-hour New York to Taipei flight in 2018. The first selection appeared as Airplane Mode (Dashwood, 2021), and her foreword here notes that the project has now run for eight years. The first zine leaned on styling with toilet paper and seat covers. This one works with angles and the fittings already in the cubicle: the cover is a low, tilted shot that sets her torso against the ceiling panel and the no-smoking placard. The format matches the first zine and the rest of Dashwood's emerging-artist series, colour throughout, 5.25 by 8 inches, with no text beyond the foreword. It launched at Dashwood Books, New York, on 30 September 2026, with a gallery and interview in Dazed. This copy is signed.
