Pinkuneko Publishing · 2015 · Softcover

"Shibuya Scramble" is a black-and-white street-photography book by Jesper Haynes, shot at Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing, the pedestrian intersection often cited as the busiest in the world.

The images focus on young women crossing the intersection, framed from skirt down to shoes, in raw, grainy black-and-white pictures that draw on the aesthetic of 1970s-80s punk fanzines, the same approach Haynes used in his earlier book "St. Marks." Pinkuneko Publishing issued the 174-page softcover book in a second edition in 2015.

Haynes is a self-published photographer who has worked across New York, Tokyo, and Bangkok; "Shibuya Scramble" sits alongside "Brooklyn 11211," the "Haynesville" zine series, and "GIG" in his catalogue with Pinkuneko Publishing.
