Showboat: Punk / Sex / Bodies explores sex in punk and punk in sex, drawing on Toby Mott's archive of punk-era ephemera to complicate a movement often read as almost asexual.
Edited by Toby Mott from the Mott Collection, his holdings of punk, protest, and subcultural print material, the book gathers imagery around the body and sexuality within punk culture. Dashwood Books published the softcover in New York in 2016, in an edition of 1,500 copies.
Mott, a British artist and collector, has spent decades assembling primary punk and countercultural ephemera and publishing it in book form as the Mott Collection, of which Showboat is one volume among several exploring different facets of that archive.
