Site Cloud

Site/Cloud is a monograph by the Japanese photographer Daisuke Yokota, published by G/P Gallery in 2013 as a limited first-edition hardback.

The medium-format book collects a series of landscape photographs marked by heavy grain and distortion. Yokota pushes the film-developing process to its limits, often re-photographing his own prints as many as ten times to build up layers of imperfection and visual noise.

The resulting images read as haunting and otherworldly rather than documentary, calling into question photography's ability to record what actually happened.
