About Toilet Paper

Founded in June 2010 by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari, Toilet Paper is a picture-based magazine with no text. Each image springs from an idea and becomes the materialization of the artists' mental outbursts through complex orchestration.

The magazine combines commercial photography aesthetics with surrealistic imagery and twisted narrative tableaux. By using an accessible magazine format with wide distribution, Toilet Paper functions as a work of art that challenges the limits of the contemporary art economy.
