Apartamento Issue 20
Autumn/Winter 2017-18, with Lawrence Weiner, Alec Soth in Minneapolis, Gay Talese, Kyoichi Tsuzuki and his Tokyo Style, Margot and Fergus Henderson in London, and Maureen Paley interviewed by Vince Aletti.
Hugo Macdonald visits Margot and Fergus Henderson. Cameron Allan McKean interviews Kyoichi Tsuzuki, and a selection from Tsuzuki's Tokyo Style follows. Arquitectura-G write on a device for contemplation in the Matarraña, a feature asks whether we are living in a domestic dystopia, Jean-Philippe Delhomme paints a series of unique rental opportunities, Jocko Weyland contributes the short story "Human-shaped hole" and Andy Rementer and Margherita Urbani the comic "When and where?". The materials study is toilet paper.
Tsuzuki's Tokyo Style (1993), photographs of the small, crammed apartments of ordinary Tokyo, is one of the books Apartamento's own approach descends from, so the pairing of interview and reprint here reads as an acknowledgement.
