BUTT Magazine #26

by BUTT Magazine
BUTT Publications · 2013

Springtime 2009, ninety pages on pink paper, the longest single issue of BUTT's original run, and the one whose contents page turns the spotlight on its writers.

Ed Droste interviews the composer Nico Muhly. Adam Baran visits Vince Aletti, the collector of male nudes, photographed by Marcelo Krasilcic, and separately interviews the Japanese Pinkman, photographed by Dirk Zschunke. Paul Flynn meets the writer and performer Aiden Shaw in a London churchyard, photographed by Marc Wayland. Felix Burrichter interviews the two cover bears, Rick and Daren, from Texas; Adriano Sack interviews the Berlin artist Marc Brandenburg. Wolfgang Tillmans contributes a sixteen-page color portfolio titled "Der Unterwäschekatalog," Benjamin Fredrickson supplies Polaroids and Seth Bogart photographs Brontez Purnell, who also writes.

Both Purnell and Fredrickson would still be contributing when the magazine came back into print more than a decade later.
