BUTT Magazine #4

by BUTT Magazine
BUTT Publications · 2002

Summer 2002, subtitled "international faggot magazine for international men," and the first issue to run without an editor's letter.

Gert Jonkers interviews Casey Spooner of Fischerspooner, photographed by Ryan McGinley, and the German scriptwriter Patrick Schuckmann. Tim Groen talks to the Swedish writer Daniel Björk, Jim Gladstone to Al Eingang, and Lernert Engelberts to the British artist David Haines. Jop van Bennekom photographs Stuart, a New Zealand hand model, and files a portfolio called "Hand Jobs." Arnoud Holleman contributes drawings made from life, and Engelberts, van Bennekom and Jos van Heel stage the bear Pim as Burt Reynolds. Reader submissions come in from Sydney, Toronto, Amsterdam and New York.

Sixty-eight pages on pink paper. The reader submissions running between the features became BUTT's defining structural habit, and eventually a standing section of their own.
