BUTT Magazine #3
Spring 2002, the third issue of the Amsterdam quarterly Gert Jonkers and Jop van Bennekom had started the year before, sixty-eight pages on pink paper.
Jonkers interviews the fashion designer Jeremy Scott, photographed by Dino Dinco, and the Dutch actor Martin de Wolf, photographed by van Bennekom. Peter de Potter reaches Jónsi Þór Birgisson of Sigur Rós by telephone in Iceland. Gregor Doll and Andrew Zega interview the filmmaker Alexandre Frédéric, and Bruce LaBruce writes on the photographer Ryan McGinley, who contributes a picture of his own. Bas Meerman supplies drawings from his diary, Viviane Sassen "Fist and Tree," Albert van Westing a portrait of a man named Valeri, and van Bennekom a fold-out poster of chest hair. Sico Carlier lists more than four hundred adjectives for the word boy.
The issue announces Kutt, a lesbian sister magazine started by Jessica Gysel, Martien Mulder and Marjolein Bijlevelt, an early sign of the editorial network BUTT would keep working with for the next two decades.
