Esopus Issue 19
Esopus 19 (Spring 2013) is the issue in which the magazine turned on its side, moving to a landscape format.
Tod Lippy's editor's note explains the change as a way to carry work that had not fitted the upright page. The issue has artists' projects by Sharon Core, John Sparagana and Joyce Pensato, and 100 frames from David Lynch's Blue Velvet introduced by Gregory Crewdson. Also here are Matt Freedman's Relatively Indolent but Relentless, Burt Glinn's photographs in Analog Recovery 3, Modern Artifacts 12 introduced by Michelle Elligott, a story by Chelli Riddiough, a found object recovered by David Scher and the sixth Guarded Opinions. The CD is Customer Service.
The issue came out as the Esopus Foundation entered its tenth year. In 2012 it had closed Esopus Space, its venue in Greenwich Village, and moved its offices to Brooklyn. Subscribers received a Robert Gober edition, Hope Hill Road, in October 2012 as a placeholder for the delayed issue. Esopus ran from 2003 to 2018, without advertising.
