Esopus Issue 24
Esopus 24 (Spring 2017) pairs six artists' projects with an interview in which Tod Lippy talks to Ann Goldstein, the translator of Elena Ferrante.
The projects are by Tony Tasset, Jane and Louise Wilson, Carlos Amorales, Hayden Dunham, Ted Barker and Marco Maggi. The issue also has Clayton Patterson's Pyramid Portraits, colour photographs by Arthur Tress introduced by James A. Ganz, a feature on the quilts of Ernest B. Haight, and Circles of Friendship, introduced by Elizabeth C. Denlinger. The 100 Frames series takes stills from Beats of the Antonov, introduced by Dylan Valley. Modern Artifacts 17 is introduced by Michelle Elligott, and the issue also runs Julia Drake's "Notes for a Young Alchemist" and the eighth Guarded Opinions. The CD is Pioneer Sessions.
Lippy founded Esopus in New York in 2003 and edited and designed it for the nonprofit Esopus Foundation. The magazine carried no advertising and ran for twenty-five issues. This was the second to last.
