Useful Photography #012

Useful Photography #012 is given over to the photographs on jigsaw puzzle boxes, the images that guide people as they put the pieces together.

Idea Books lists the subjects as animals, television, sports and postcard-perfect destinations. Because the picture on the lid duplicates the finished puzzle, it shows the solver the ideal result, complete and undamaged. The issue also includes photographs that are incomplete. Hans Aarsman, Julian Germain, Erik Kessels and Hans van der Meer collected and edited it. It is a color softcover, 21 by 29.7 cm, published by KesselsKramer in Amsterdam in 2014.

The series is an annual magazine of overlooked, underwhelming images made for practical purposes, edited by Erik Kessels with Aarsman, Germain and Frank Schallmaier. Van der Meer, who edited this issue, is listed as a previous editor.
