Wako Book 1999

Wako Book 1999 is the first in an ongoing series of artist books Wolfgang Tillmans has made with Wako Works of Art, the Tokyo gallery that published it as an 82-page softcover in 1999.

Tillmans's own bibliography lists it as an artist book that he edited and designed himself, measuring 14.2 by 21.8 cm.

It opened a series tied to Tillmans's recurring exhibitions at Wako Works of Art: Tillmans's own bibliography lists Wako Book 3 in 2004, Wako Book 5 in 2014, and Wako Book 6 in 2020, each one produced around a gallery show.
