Voyeur 2 (yellow cover)

Voyeur 2 is the second book in Hans-Peter Feldmann’s Voyeur series, a small softcover with miniature black-and-white photographs on every page.

Walther König published this volume in Cologne in 1997. The images are reproduced as small halftones and set close together, scrapbook style, and they come from many genres of photography. Feldmann sets unlike pictures side by side, with photographs of nude women next to aircraft crashes. Most of the pictures include faces, and a few belong to recognisable figures, among them Muhammad Ali, Isabella Rossellini and Henry Miller.

Feldmann (1941–2023) was a German artist who worked by collecting, ordering and re-presenting existing images. The curator Roy Arden has suggested that Image, a single-issue magazine Feldmann printed in black and white on newsprint in the 1970s, may have been a prototype for the Voyeur books.
