Voyeur 6 (red cover)

Voyeur 6 is the sixth volume of Hans-Peter Feldmann’s series of small artist’s books made from found photographs, all of them in black and white.

Walther König published it in Cologne in 2014, as a 265-page paperback with 800 black-and-white images. The pictures come from movie stills, news photographs, advertisements, amateur snapshots, pornography, art, and scientific and archival sources. There is no title page, and the pictures begin on the first page. Feldmann’s sequence and layout push the reader to follow the images as a story, which works only some of the time. Most of the pictures include faces. A few belong to well-known people, such as Muhammad Ali, Isabella Rossellini and Henry Miller, and most are strangers.

Feldmann (born 1941) has kept adding volumes to the series. The fifth was published by Walther König in June 2011, and the sixth followed three years later.
