Glen Luchford photographs Malgosia Bela, Chikashi Suzuki shoots Rinko Kikuchi, Richard Bush takes Daisy Lowe, Alasdair McLellan photographs Waris Ahluwalia and Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shoot Trish Goff. Terry Richardson photographs his mother and files a Los Angeles travel story, Jeff Rian writes on Martin Kippenberger's hotel stationery, Takashi Homma documents contemporary Tokyo houses and Mark Borthwick contributes "French Women."

Purple was five volumes and sixteen years old by this point, and the issue's news pages announce the Purple Anthology, the magazine's first attempt at gathering its own archive.
