Purple Magazine
An influential French fashion and contemporary culture magazine founded in Paris in 1992 by Elein Fleiss and Olivier Zahm. Purple emerged as a reaction against the superficial glamour of the 1980s, pioneering the "anti-fashion" aesthetic and becoming synonymous with the new realism in fashion photography through collaborators like Juergen Teller, Terry Richardson, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Mario Sorrenti.

About Purple
Purple Prose (1992–1998) began as a reaction against 1980s superficiality, pioneering anti-fashion aesthetics. The first four issues were laid out by Claude Closky at the Jennifer Flay gallery.
In 1994, founders Zahm and Fleiss curated "The Winter of Love" at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, later shown at P.S.1 in New York.
Purple (1998–2003) fused Purple Prose, Purple Fiction, Purple Fashion, and Purple Sexe into 16 issues. Art direction by Christophe Brunnquell until 2006, then M/M Paris.
Purple Fashion Magazine launched in 2004 as Volume III, continuing the publication's legacy of showcasing emerging and established talent in fashion, art, and culture.
